This article describes how to use file download managers with the Bit Weld service.

Symptoms

Some file download managers are unable to download files from Secure Messages or Secure Workspaces. This includes:

• Free Download Manager (FDM)

Cause

Some file download managers attempt to download large files using a multiple connection / partial file data fragment method. The Bit Weld service supports this method. The problem is that some file download managers do not implement a compatible method and the file download fails.

Resolution

If you encounter problems, disable the use of file download managers when downloading files from Secure Messages and Secure Workspaces.
